HealthSpace Announces Peterborough Public Health to Participate in the Alpha Phase of Its Blockchain Initiative – The VIA Marketplace API

Vancouver, BC – May 3, 2018 – HealthSpace Data Systems Ltd. (the “Company” or “HealthSpace”) (CSE:HS) (Frankfurt:38H) (OTC:HDSLF) announced that Peterborough Public Health (Peterborough), Peterborough, Ontario has agreed to be the first environmental regulatory agency to pilot the VIA Marketplace. Peterborough will begin participating in a real world environment by having health officials use the HSTouch to enter inspections and audits performed across the city of Peterborough. HealthSpace will then utilize the VIA API for transmitting data to the Ethereum Blockchain.

The arrangement with Peterborough will mark the first implementation of an environmental regulatory app to transmit public health inspections to the blockchain, in real-time. By using the HSTouch app, inspectors’ day-to-day duties are undisrupted while the API extrapolates much of the complex nature of blockchain data exchanges, making it a truly seamless mobile blockchain technology solution. Further, the VIA API interlays inspection data with distributed storage on the InterPlanetary File System which allows for documents of all kinds to be stored cohesively alongside regulatory inspections and private industry audits.

Peterborough Public Health serves the residents of Curve Lake and Hiawatha First Nations, and the County and City of Peterborough and offers a wide range of programs and services ranging from food safety, safe water, healthy environments, infectious diseases, rabies control, vector borne diseases, dental and sexual health clinic services. Environmental Health Program manager, Atul Jain stated that, “We are excited to be the first Ontario Local Public Health Agency to pilot this revolutionary new technology. It will increase the sharing and access of inspection data to enhance the protection and prevention of public health programs conducted by Peterborough Public Health.”

HealthSpace CTO, Silas Garrison stated “This pilot is a crucial step in demonstrating how HealthSpace is perfectly positioned to bring blockchain technology to the government sector. It is an evolution of our technology stack that now incorporates Cloud, Blockchain and Mobile in one fell swoop. All of this is pivotal as we bring our technology into the private sector to prove how it can improve the health and safety of consumers in everything from food service to cannabis distribution to the agricultural supply chain.”
